Intricate Turkish Bracelet Cuff Mehndi Design for Full Hand

Photo by Mehndi Design Henna Collection (Unknown)
An ornate turkish mehndi design providing full hand coverage, featuring sunburst and mesh jaal. Rated as Easy, this pattern is perfect for Diwali.
Full-hand designs run from the fingertips to the wrist, so allow extra time for application. Work from the wrist towards the fingers, or the other way round, so you never rest on wet paste. This is a beginner-friendly pattern: practise the main shapes on paper first, then copy them onto skin with a fine-tipped cone.
In Turkey, the henna night before a wedding is called kına gecesi. Traditionally, a round patch of henna is placed in the bride's palm, often with a gold coin, and the hand is wrapped in red cloth.
Application tips: Keeping the skin warm while the paste is on helps the colour develop. For the traditional palm circle, press a thick, even round of paste into the centre of the palm.
